ADEN, Yemen -- Yemen's flag carrier Yemenia on Friday started operating seven additional flights to evacuate 1,250 citizens from conflict-ridden Sudan.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the batch would be evacuated to Aden or Sanaa, and the first of these flights carrying 195 Yemenis has departed from Port Sudan airport. (Yemen-Evacuation-Sudan)

KHARTOUM -- Saudi Arabia and the United States on Friday announced that Sudanese warring sides improved compliance with the cease-fire deal.
The two countries said in a joint statement posted by the U.S. Embassy in Sudan on Twitter that the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were better adhering to the Agreement on a Short-Term Cease-fire and Humanitarian Arrangements signed on May 20. (Sudan-Saudi Arabia-US)

KHARTOUM -- Sudan's acting Defense Minister Yassin Ibrahim Yassin Friday called on retired soldiers and whoever is able to carry arms to report to the nearest army base to get armed.
"We call on all pensioners of the armed forces, including officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers and all those who are able to carry arms, to go to the nearest military base to get armed," Yassin Ibrahim Yassin said in a statement, adding that the move was intended to enable those people to defend themselves. RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian was killed by Israeli soldiers on Friday after he carried out a stabbing attack in an Israeli settlement south of the West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that it was notified by the Palestinian liaison office of security coordination with Israel that a Palestinian man was killed in an Israeli settlement south of Hebron, without providing more details about the incident.
