Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], February 19 (ANI): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Zeeshan Lalani has taken on the opposition on the Telangana government's decision to allow Muslim government employees to leave at 4:00 PM during Ramzan.
Lalani stated that every government is providing such relief to Muslims and BJP always has problems to everything that Revanth Reddy does right. Lalani gave the example of the TDP government in Andhra and stated that they are also giving such reliefs to Muslims despite being alliance partners of BJP.
Speaking to ANI, Lalani said, 'TDP and BJP are both friends and alliance partners. Even being friends, the TDP government is giving relief to Muslims but then they think of a new joke every day. This tradition which has been going on for the last 25 years, every government has been giving such reliefs. Whatever has been given now is not a new thing and I welcome this decision of Revanth Reddy. Their problem is that whatever good Revanth Reddy does, they have a problem and they talk against it.'
On Tuesday, Telangana government issued an order which allowed government Muslims employees to leave offices at 04:30 PM during Ramzan. These included government Muslim employees, teachers, contract, out-sourcing, boards, corporations and Public Sector employees working in the state to leave their offices at 04:00 PM during the holy month of Ramzan that is from March 2 to 31.
The order was issued by Chief Secretary of State Santhi Kumar, which read, 'Government hereby permits all the Government Muslim Employees/ Teachers/Contract /Out-sourcing. Boards, Corporations & Public Sector Employees working in the State to leave their Offices/Schools at 4.00 p.m. during the Holy Month of 'RAMZAN' ie, from March 02 to March 31 (both days inclusive) to offer necessary prayers, except when their presence is required due to exigencies of services during the above period.'
