Ajmer (Rajasthan) [India], April 23 (ANI): The spiritual head of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, on Wednesday termed the Pahalgam attack as 'painful' incident and said that there is no place for such acts in Islam.
Speaking to ANI, Syed Khan asserted that no religion gives anyone the right to shoot someone after asking their religion.
'This is a very painful incident, and there is no place for such acts in Islam. According to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, if even a single innocent person is killed, it is considered as if the whole of humanity has been killed. Why are innocent people being killed? From an Islamic point of view, such people are not worthy of being called Muslims,' Syed Zainul Khan said.
'No religion gives anyone the right to shoot someone after asking their religion. Why are you defaming Islam? They should be ashamed,' he said.
Further, the spiritual head of the Ajmer Dargah urged Prime Minister Modi to 'destroy' the roots of terrorism.
'I appeal to the Prime Minister of the country that the time has come when we must enter and destroy terrorism at its roots, wherever it exists, so that the blood of our soldiers does not spill on the borders,' he said.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the tragic terror attack that led to the death of many innocent lives on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday reviewed the security situation at the site of the terror attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran meadow.
The Union Minister first took an aerial stock of the region as he arrived at the site by helicopter, descending onto the meadow now bearing the scars of violence, earlier in the day.
Amit Shah walked around the area amid tight security and was briefed by top officials on the current situation and ongoing operations in the area.
This has been one of the biggest terror attacks after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Following the terror attack, security forces have launched search operations on Wednesday to track down the terrorists responsible.
Security has been heightened since the attack, with visuals from the area showing the streets deserted in the usually bustling tourist area. Many organisations have also called for a Jammu bandh following the attack. (ANI)
