Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 2 (ANI): Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir SP Vaid on Friday completely disagreed with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zaradari over his claim of 'internal reform' to address terrorism and asserted that Pakistan continues to use terrorism against India as a 'statecraft.'
PPP's chief Bilawal Bhutto has acknowledged the country's tango with terror operatives, saying that Pakistan has a past and 'suffered' because of it. He, however, added that the government has learned its lesson and has gone through 'internal reforms' to address this.
SP Vaid refused to believe that Pakistan has reformed and said that they continue to 'follow the policy of bleeding India by a 1000 cuts.'
Speaking with ANI, Vaid said, 'I don't think Pakistan has reformed. In the past, Pakistan has taken dollars; they were doing this dirty work for the best, as they claim... Even today, Pakistan continues to follow the policy of bleeding India by a 1000 cuts. They continue to use terrorism against India as a statecraft.'
Speaking about Bhutto's statement that Pakistan is a 'peaceful country,' Vaid, referring to their internal conflict in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rebutted the claim, saying, ' The whole world knows how peaceful Pakistan is.'
'It continues to follow its establishment, the Pakistan army and the ISI, the agenda of jihad and Ghazwa e Hind. I disagree with Bilal Bhutto... The whole world knows what peaceful Pakistan is. Not a single day goes by in Pakistan without the Pakistan army getting hit in Balochistan and KPK,' Vaid said.
Vaid further said that the Pakistani leader keeps on talking about a nuclear bomb and called it a 'rogue country' controlled by its army and ISI.
Every day, their leader keeps threatening that they have an atom bomb. I don't think any responsible country will use the bogey of an atomic bomb or a nuclear bomb against any civilian population of any country. Have you heard something like this from any authorities or any civilians from the USA, Russia, India, or China? So it's a rogue country controlled by its army and ISI,' he said.
Earlier in the day, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari acknowledged the country's tango with terror operatives, saying that Pakistan has a past.
In a conversation with Sky News's Yalda Hakim on Thursday, Bhutto said, 'As far as what the defence minister said, I don't think it is a secret that Pakistan has a past... As a result, we have suffered, Pakistan has suffered. We have gone through wave after wave of extremism. But because of what we suffered, we also learned our lessons. We have gone through internal reforms to address this problem...'
'As far as Pakistan's history is concerned, it is history and it is not something that we are partaking in today. It is indeed an unfortunate part of our history,' Bhutto said.
Bhutto, who addressed a rally in Mirpur Khas on Thursday, once again engaged in empty rhetoric, claiming that Pakistan wanted peace but was ready for war if India provoked them.
'Pakistan is a peaceful country, and Islam is a peaceful religion. We do not want war, but if someone attacks our Sindhu, then they should be ready for war. We don't beat the drums of war, but if provoked, the roar of a united Pakistan will be deafening,' he said in the rally. (ANI)
