New Delhi [India], August 2 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his alleged support to Hamas amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Calling Hamas as a 'terrorist organisation', Dubey claimed that it kills innocent people in Kashmir too, and slammed Rahul Gandhi for supporting it.
'Hindustan in danger. How to destroy the constitution and constitutional institutions, understand this mindset of Rahul Gandhi. In a conversation with American MP Crowley, is Rahul Gandhi supporting the world's terrorist organisation, which kills innocent people in Kashmir as well?' Dubey posted on X, citing a document.
He further accused Gandhi of comparing Asom Gana Parishad, a party he says was the outcome of the student movement, to Hamas.
'The government and party formed due to the students' movement in Assam are comparing Assam Gana Parishad with a terrorist organisation like Hamas,' he said.
'According to this conversation, the movement in Assam was not against Bangladeshi infiltrators,' he added.
Responding to Gandhi's allegations of 'vote theft', Dubey said, 'Now the election will not be with the voters of Bihar, it will be with Bangladeshi Muslims.'
Dubey's remarks come after Gandhi on Friday criticised the EC, accusing the poll body of being complicit in 'vote theft' to benefit the BJP. Gandhi claimed his party has 'open-and-shut proof' of the alleged electoral malpractice, which he likened to an 'atom bomb' that will expose the ECI's involvement when revealed.
Talking to reporters on the Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, the Congress said, 'Votes are being stolen. We have open-and-shut proof that the Election Commission is involved in this vote theft. And I'm not saying this lightly, I'm speaking with 100 per cent proof. And when we release it (proof), the entire country will come to know that the Election Commission is enabling vote theft. And who are they doing it for? They're doing it for BJP.'
Gandhi said that the findings of an investigation by the Congress amount to nothing short of an 'atom bomb,' with implications severe enough to shake the very foundations of the ECI.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India fact-checked Rahul Gandhi's claim over 'irregularities in 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka. ECI said that the statement made by the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha is 'misleading, baseless, and threatening.' (ANI)
